Dark circles refer to a condition in which distinguished dark colored circles start occurring around the eyes of a person. This can be one of the signs of ageing or hereditary changes. It can occur to some people even because of a lack of proper sleep. Dark circles can often be termed by the name ‘tired eyes’ because of the same reason. This condition affects both, men as well as women and smoking, consumption of alcohol, dehydration, dietary deficiencies, hyper pigmentation caused by sun damage, excessive consumption of caffeine etc. can be taken as some of the main culprits behind it. No one wishes to look old or awkward and as dark circles are seen as a sign of ageing, no-one like to have eyes with dark circles. But don’t worry if you have them as dark circles can be easily treated with these easy Ayurvedic remedies:-
1. Have Proper Sleep to Get Relieved Against Stress:-
You need no remedy to stay healthy when you have a healthy sleep every day. Sleep deprivation is one of the major causes of Dark circles. Do not over-sleep as even over-sleeping can make you experience dark circles. Sleep is to get rid of tiredness and not to be a lazy fellow at all. Insomniac people are more prone to dark circles. If you are sleeping less, you should improve your level/quality of sleep to get rid from dark circles.
2. Apply Sweet Almond Oil and Argan Oil to Reduce Dark Circles:-
Take a few drops of sweet almond oil or almond oil and apply it in a circular motion with help of your fingers on the surrounding area of affected skin. These oils get easily absorbed by human skin and these have a rich content of Vitamin-E which improves skin health. These are also rich in the content of antioxidants which bring about a pause to the growth of harmful free radicals in the human body. These antioxidants promote skin repair and help to restore the natural glow of skin.
3. Use Aloe Vera Gel:-
Aloe Vera is the best substitute for all major skin problems. Aloe Vera juice, gel and pulp can be applied on the area of skin under the eyes while massaging it in a circular motion with the help of fingers. Once applied, this juice should be kept applied for at least fifteen minutes. Later on, the area can be rinsed off with water. You can clean it with a moist cotton pad afterwards.
4. Coconut Oil and Castor Oil:-
Apply pure virgin castor oil or coconut oil daily on the skin under your eyes. Use your fingers in a circular motion to massage your skin. Sleep while keeping this oil applied on the affected area. These oils work as a perfect moisturizer for skin. Nourished eyes are 100% more immune against problems like dark circles. Proper nourishment also has the property to cure this problem.
5. Use Cucumber, Potato or Bottle Gourd Slices:-
Take a cucumber, potato or bottle gourd and chop it off into slices. Refrigerate these slices for some time (15-20 minutes) and then take them out. Now take two of these slices and keep them over your eyes. Keep thee slices in the same position over your eyes for ten to fifteen minutes. Wash your eyes with cold water now. Store the remaining slices again in the refrigerator afterwards.
6. Rose Water and Tomato Juice:-
Tomato contains Lycopene. It is a phytochemical beneficial for human skin. This phytochemical also has the power to cure your skin against dark circles. Rose water on the other hand soothes and calms down an individual’s eyes. A mix of both these ingredients can be used for the treatment of dark circles. This mixture protects skin against skin damage and improves the help of skin. Apply this mixture on the surrounding area of your eyes keeping it applied daily for at least ten minutes.
7. Green Tea Bags to Reduce Appearance of Dark Circles:-
Dip two tea bags in water and refrigerate them for a while. Place these cool tea bags on your eyes following the same approach that we told you to follow in case of cucumber slices. Keep these cool tea bags placed on your eyes for at least fifteen minutes and then rinse your face with water. Dab your face with a cotton cloth afterwards. Practice the same approach daily to reduce dark circles in appearance.
8. Grapeseed Oil, jojoba oil or kumkumaditailam to fade Off Dark Circles:-
Apply two to three drops of grapeseed oil, jojoba oil or kumkumaditailam daily on the affected area of your skin and massage the area in circular motion using your fingers. Apply this oil daily on surrounding region of your eyes while sleeping and keep it applied the entire night. Wash off your face in the morning. Dark circles will fade off soon.
9.Remove Them Off With Nourishment of Organic Honey:-
Take some organic honey and apply a thick layer of it on the affected area of skin. It is better if you practice this step while lying comfortably or ask someone to do it with you. Leave the layer applied on your skin for at least 20 minutes. This will soften your skin and lighten the dark circles. The dark circles will soon fade away like this.
10. Adopt Dietary Changes and Yoga to Get Rid Of Stress:-
Adopt some changes in your lifestyle along with the home remedies mentioned above. Start eating vegetables like green leafy vegetables, broccoli, tomatoes, carrots etc. Talking about fruits, strawberries, pine apple and citrus fruits suit the best. You should also increase your dosage of Vitamin-E rich products to get rid of dark circles. Besides this, you should try to keep your skin hydrated and you should minimize the level of stress from your lifestyle. Exercises and Yoga should also be practiced daily to achieve favourable results.
