Dry Skin : Care and maintenance/Ayurvedic Remedies

Dry skin, Xeroderma or Xeroderma is a disorder in which a person experiences dryness of skin. In other words we can say that it is a situation in which a person’s skin experiences dehydration. Moisturization is an approach that can be bought in use to cure this problem at an initial stage but the more it turns vigorous, the more it makes you troubled. A ski that is excessively dry is prone to itching, irritation, bleeding, cracking of skin and many other similar skin problems. Dryness of skin occurs the most on places like Scalp, legs, arms and hands but it can occur with the other places as well. Here in this post, we are going to tell you about the home remedies to cure this dryness of skin:-

1. Nourish Your Skin with Virgin Olive Oil:-
Olive oil is rich in the content of antioxidants which prove beneficial for the health of skin. A massage with healthy oil like olive oil soothes your skin and relieves it against irritation and itching. Use this oil as a massaging mix on your skin at least one hour before having bath. Use this oil on your skin daily to observe favourable results. If you are having a pack of Vaseline or any other petroleum jelly at home, you can apply it on your skin to cure it against dryness. You can also use ghee to achieve the same kind of effect.

2. Use Milk and Milk Cream:-
Milk is mild, and acts as an awesome exfoliator for human skin. It has an anti-inflammatory effect for skin and same is the case with milk cream. Its soothing effect prevents the skin from meeting a pH imbalance and it also aids the skin against itching. Milk cream and milk act as a natural moisturizer for skin and prevent it from meeting further dryness. Milk cream can be applied directly on the affected skin surface without adding any additional ingredient in it. Both these ingredients also help to lighten your skin tone and prevent the dryness of skin.

3. Honey and Glycerine to Improve Moisture Holding Capacity of Skin:-
Honey is rich in antimicrobial, anti-oxidising and moisturizing properties that make it a pro for human skin. A mix of honey and glycerine if applied on the skin locks the moisture on its surface and helps to keep its surface smooth, healthy and soft.  Both these ingredients are rather also rich many added minerals and vitamins which keep the skin immune against various other derma disorders as well.

4. Rose Water Mixed With Glycerine and Neem Tree Extract:-
Mix some neem tree juice in glycerine and rose water. Apply this mixture on the part of your skin which is affected with dryness.  Glycerine can also be applied individually alone on the skin as it improves the moisture holding capacity of skin and prevents it from getting dry furthermore.

5. Apply Some Yoghurt on Your Skin:-

Yoghurt is rich in the content of lactic acid which helps in removing germs and bacteria from skin. If consumed, this yoghurt acts as a Probiotic drink which helps in removing all the harmful bacteria from the human gut and if applied on the surface of human skin, it helps to remove the germs and bacteria which act as a cause behind this dryness of skin. Yoghurt also treats the skin against itchiness and makes it softer. It rather also improves the moisture holding capacity of human skin.

6. Coconut Oil and Coconut Milk to Soothe the Skin:-
Coconut oil and coconut milk or coconut water both are rich in awesome nutrients that improve the quality of skin and make it healthier.  Coconut oil is a natural remedy against dry skin. It can be used along with other friendly oils like jojoba oil to achieve favourable results. Jojoba oil is rather a good natural moisturizer for skin and it prevents the moisture holding capacity of human skin.

7. Lavender Oil for Skin Irritation:-
Lavender oil is beneficial against irritation of skin. You can apply this oil on our skin regularly at least one hour before bathing to make your skin healthier, softer and more moisturized.  You can also use it as a cure against itching of skin because of excessive dryness. Similar effects can be obtained massaging the skin daily with a blend of essential oils.

8. Use Oatmeal Mask:-
Take oatmeal in a bowl and add some warm milk and honey to it. Apply this as a face mask or skin mask to treat dryness of skin. Keep the mixture applied for some time and then rinse it off with water. Use this mask several times a week to enjoy favourable results. You will soon experience an improved health and quality of skin. Oatmeal is a blend of anti-inflammatory properties. It is one of the best ingredients to cure inflammation of skin.

9. Use a Mix of Avocado and Honey as a Moisturizer:-
Mix a proportion of avocado juice/pulp in half the same volume of honey. Use it as a skin pack.  Keep this pack applied on your skin for 15-20 minutes and then rinse it off with Luke warm water after some time. Use this pack once or twice a week and observe the results. Avocado is rich in moisturizing properties, Vitamins and minerals. Same is the case with honey. Both these help to lock the content of moisture on your skin and thus act as a natural moisturizer for it.

10.  Use Egg Yolk or Orange Peel Extract on Your Skin:-
Take a few eggs and remove their outer skin to obtain yolk from them. Use it as an egg mask every morning at least one hour before having bath. Egg yolk can help in locking the content of moisture on your skin. The same kind of benefits can be obtained by using orange peel extract or powder obtained after drying the peel of an orange under the sun. Orange peel is rich in the content of Vitamin-C which cures skin against various skin disorders.
