Gas and upset stomach are the two problems that affect almost every keen eater these days. Everyone has experienced these conditions at a point or other in his/her life. Stomach aches might occur because of a consumption of contaminated (rancid) food or because of any other such reason in humans. Though there are no special or specific symptoms related with these conditions but often they accompany with severe stomach pain, headache and other such signs like vomiting etc. If you are suffering from the problem of upset stomach or gas problem, following are the kitchen ingredients which may sort out your problem:-
1. Ginger against Inflammation and Digestive Problems:-
Ginger is one of the best remedies to treat inflammation accompanied by ‘Gas’ and ‘upset stomach’ problem. The juice of ginger has the power to neutralize the stomach acids and to increase and enhance the production of digestive juices. Ginger thus has the power to treat your digestive system against digestive problems and to eliminate the excessive gas from the intestinal tract. Just crush some ginger to take out the juice and then add some honey in it. Consume this mixture at least twice a day to make yourself immune against the problem of gas and upset stomach.
2. Add Ajwain to your life:-
People these days have started adding Ajwain or carom seeds while cooking their vegetables to stay away from digestive problems like upset stomach and gas problem. These seeds have the ‘thymol’ compound in them which aids digestion and makes you feel better. If you have experienced the problem of gas, just have about half a teaspoon of carom seeds with water and it will relieve you against gas soon.
3. Jeera Water against Gas and Upset Stomach Problem:-
Jeera water is one of the best remedies to treat the problem of gas. ‘Jeera’ or ‘Cumin seeds’ are served even in the restaurants after food because of the same reason. Jeera has essential oils that stimulate the production of saliva in the salivary glands and this enhances the digestion of food. This also prevents the production of gas in an excess. You can consume Jeera in the form of Jeera water or even directly after food to treat gas and upset stomach.
4. Add Asafoetida while cooking food:-
Asafoetida pills (Heeng goli) is available in market which can be consumed to prevent the production of excess gas in the stomach. Asafoetida is a spice that has anti-flatulent properties in it. It helps to prevent the growth of bacteria in gut and also relieves a person against the problem of gas. Thus you can add a pinch of Asafoetida as a spice while cooking rice or while preparing your favourite recipe to avoid stomach related problems.
5. Add Lime Juice to Your Cooked Vegetables:-
Squeeze lime juice after cooking vegetables to make the food completely alkaline. Though lemon is rich in acid itself but still it has the ability to make your food alkaline and hence has the power to prevent the problem of gas and upset stomach as well. If you are already suffering from any such problem, just stir 1 tsp lime juice and half teaspoon of baking soda in a glass of water. Now drink it. This will facilitate the process of digestion and you will soon get relieved against the problems like gas and upset stomach.
6. Have Some Triphala Churna after Food:-
Those who are habitual of experiencing digestion related problems and other such problems like gas and upset stomach problem should keep Triphala churna in their houses. This churna has the ability to cure you against digestive problems. Just add a half teaspoon of this powder in boiling water and consume this water once the temperature becomes bearable. This will relieve you immediately against gas and upset stomach problem.
7. Have Some Yellow Mustard to Lower the Acidity of Your Stomach:-
Yellow mustard has acetic acid in it which helps in lowering down the acidity of human stomach and provides instant relief against gas and stomach pain. Just 1 teaspoon of yellow mustard when consumed with warm water has the ability to treat all your stomach problems and thus you can use it against the upset stomach problem and gas problem as well.
8. Add Caraway Seeds to Your Consumption Plan:-
If you are someone who is very much prone to stomach problems and gas problem, you should surely add caraway seeds to the list of your kitchen ingredients. Caraway seeds are packed with vitamins and minerals that inhibit the growth of harmful bacteria in the body. This helps in the prevention of stomach related problems and doesn’t makes you experience the problem of gas as well. Mix a handful of caraway seeds and fennel seeds to keep it stored in a small box so that you can eat a teaspoon of these seeds immediately after having food as it really has the power to prevent stomach problems.
9. Use Heating Pad on Your Stomach:-
If nothing has worked in your case by now, just take a heating pad and press it against your stomach. If you don’t have a heating pad, just heat some cotton and place it over your stomach as it will relieve you against the upsetting of stomach problem. You can take pudin hara pills for the gas problems or else you can consume some Pudina (Mint) juice to cure the same.
10. The Peppermint Concoction:-
A concoction is something that cures problems related with stomach. A peppermint concoction soothes your upset stomach and makes you relieves against all signs and symptoms accompanied with it. This concoction can be made in the form of tea by boiling some peppermint leaves in water. You can also add some honey or sugar for taste. Add lemon juice to enhance the stomach treatment abilities of this concoction if possible.
