How to Get Rid Of Hangover : Home Remedies

A hangover can be taken as an unpleasant or Physiological effect that results with the consumption of alcohol. A person literally behaves insane after consuming alcohol. You behave unexpectedly after consuming alcohol. Though a hangover normally doesn’t last for more than one hour but still those hours are so unbearable for everyone that a person gets fed up with it. People drink alcohol for many reasons and one such reason is that it makes a person feel relieved against pains but the person himself becomes a pain for others after drinking it. Hangover is accompanied with headache most of the time and there can be many causes for this condition. To cure a hangover naturally, you can follow these simple tips:-

1. Drink more and More Water to Rehydrate the Body:-
The best way to get rid of a hangover is to drink more and more water. Consume everything that hydrates you and dilutes the content of alcohol in your body. Except water, you can also rely on the juices of vegetables like tomato, lemon etc. Honey can also provide you relief to some extent. Experts say that the more water you drink, the more alcohol in your system gets diluted and the lesser becomes its aftereffect.

2. Have Sleep and Make Yourself Relaxed:-

A hangover makes you restless. The headache and nausea accompanied with this condition can be easily relieved by having some rest. A proper rest has the capacity to relieve you against hangover. So have sleep and make yourself relaxed. If you don’t feel like sleeping, just close your eyes and have a nap.  Never drink in an access. The more alcohol you drink, the more results hangover in your case.

3. Start Consuming Alcohol in a Moderate Quantity:-

The worst fact about drinking alcohol is that some people drink it more than limit. An intake of alcohol more than limit makes their bladder weak. It decreases their sperm count and makes them a victim of long-lasting hangover. If you are habitual of drinking alcohol, you should limit its use to moderate quantity and even this moderate quantity of alcohol should not be consumed neat. It should be diluted with water before drinking.

4. Choose Your Drinks carefully:-
Be careful about your drinks and choose only the drinks which are less caffeinated and less alcoholic. Beer for example is less alcoholic than alcohol itself. Cocktails are also less alcoholic than alcohol itself. Check for the percentage of alcohol in any drink before consuming it and dilute it with water if it contains more amount of alcohol.

5. Eat Something before Drinking:-
Habitual drinkers recommend that you should eat something before drinking to avoid hangovers. Drinking with an empty stomach is always an invitation to hangover and additional problems like nausea and vomiting. Secondly, you should never drink neat or in an access.

6. Do Not Add Something Fizzy to Your Drink:-

Some people are habitual of mixing other fizzy products in their drinks. Some are also habitual of smoking while drinking. Both these habits increase your risk of a hangover. Adding fizzy drinks to your alcohol increases the speed of absorption. Check also for the presence of impurities and congeners in your drink

7. Have Some Lemon Juice:-
Lemon juice is an awesome & refreshing drink that detoxifies your body and breaks down alcohol. It has the capacity to cure the problem of upset stomach during hangovers and to cure you against the additional effects of drinking alcohol. It rather dilutes the content of alcohol in your body and makes you feel relaxed soon. If you feel like vomiting, just cut a lemon into two halves and lick a single half of that lemon after sprinkling some salt on it. You won’t feel like vomiting anymore.

8. Sip a Cup of Ginger Tea or black tea:-
Alcohol stays for long in a person’s system as it is hardly digestible. A cup of ginger tea or black tea will make the alcohol digest faster and soothe your stomach against the irritation and nausea caused by alcohol consumption. This tea is also an effective remedy against headache and hangovers. You can consume one of these teas’ in the morning to cure yourself against the after effects of alcohol drinking.

9. Have Some Bananas:-

Bananas provide a soothing kind of effect in the condition called hangover. Banana is rich in the content of Potassium which is needed the most to cure the after effects of drinking. You can also consume nuts, raisins, pistachios, almonds etc. after drinking to overcome the aftereffects of drinking.

10. Avoid Heavy Foods:-

According to a health expert Mr. Jitender Singh Bangar, you should avoid any food that harms your digestive system during this time. You can rely on food items like soups; liquids etc. but you should never consume something heavy. You can have eggs or yoghurt as a breakfast and small snacks in between the meals. Avoid eating processed or deep fried products. Eat something that is rich in proteins and which is less dehydrated. Products rich in the content of Potassium or water suit the best during this situation.

11. Use Ice Pack for Headache:-
If you are suffering from headache, take some ice cubes and rub them against your head. Have a cold water bath if you are experiencing any kind of heat from inside. Drink juice or some vegetable/ sports drink to gain the energy lost. Have multiple baths if possible. Take some yoghurt and add some honey to it. Take this mixture as a remedy the very first in morning. You will feel relaxed against headache that accompanies a hangover. Wash your face multiple times with water. This will help you regain your senses quickly.

12. Chew Some Peppermint:-

Bring some peppermint leaves and chew them. This will relax your intestines and soothe you against the after effects of drinking. Having a bath in warm water with some drops of peppermint oil added to it will also provide additional relief. Peppermint leaves and peppermint oil have the capacity to treat a person against anxiety as well.
