A preservative is a chemical substance which is added to food beverages, pharmaceutical drugs, paints, biological samples etc. to prevent unwanted chemical changes from taking place with them or in simpler words to preserve them. Preservative is a food additive that prevents food items from getting spoiled and thus we need it but why to purchase preservatives when we have them at home?
